Fantastic game.
It's true to the Pokemon series where it's the same game formula but with better graphics.

I was wondering how they'd take advantage of the DS touch-pad and they do so smartly by using it for the battle interface.

I haven't done this yet but another supercool bonus to this new version is you can communicate wirelessly and trade or battle Pokemon with random people on Earth.

I think the real value of Pokemon is that it's only for the portable gameboy/DS systems. Pokemon not something you'd play for hours at home but it's the best to kill time while waiting for you food at a restaurant, or when your boss has his back turned, or waiting at a red light.

There's also wifi play for Mario Kart and Tetris. The wifi experience makes the DS and the games that support online play so much more fun (better than PSP by a long shot)...

I'd like to forget that Mario Kart DS has online play. If snakers weren't annoying enough (though I admit it's a legitimate strategy), finding myself in second place (behind a snaker) and having the person in fourth place almost always disconnect after the first race (and then, the person in third -- the new last spot -- disconnect after the second race) is just not fun.

Tetris has an online ranking system that works pretty well (if you disconnect you lose ranking points). But I totally know what you mean about Mario Kart. So many damn cheating kids out there....
